Three Car Tips to Transition Your Vehicle into Spring

760 × 397

We’re starting to see blossoms on the trees, flowers popping up, and the sun’s rays shining a bit longer each day in Denver. Spring is a pretty dramatic change from winter and that means your vehicle is also driving through a transitional phase. As the landscape and weather conditions change, your ride has a few updates that need to be done. Follow our few steps to a happy set of wheels this spring.

You read that right, it’s time to get sudsy and give the exterior a good scrub down. Your vehicle has been collecting salt from the snow and you need to get that off ASAP. Salt can lead to chipped and faded paint on your ride. Make sure to really focus on the bottom half of your car in this scrub down.

Check Your Tires

After trekking through the rough terrain of the snow and ice in the mountains and around town, the tread on your tires may be worn out. We recommend placing a penny in the tread of your tire–Lincoln’s head facing downward. If you can still see his whole head, then it’s time for new wheels. You can’t have bald tires on your spring break road trip so take care of it sooner rather than later.

Alignment Check

We all try to avoid potholes, but it’s inevitable to drive through one every now and then. Unfortunately, this can take a toll on your vehicle and affect the alignment. If you notice your ride is pulling to the left or right when driving, it’s time to bring it in for a service. This causes your tires to wear unevenly and will cost you more money down the road.

You have invested a lot of money and time into your vehicle and its care should be a top priority. Our spring cleaning recommendations are a great place to begin and jump-start your ride’s transition into the warmer months of the year. If you need our help after following the outlined steps above, head to our service center at our dealership and we’ll get everything in working order.
