Larry H. Miller Dealerships Announces Acquisition of Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Store in Denver

Store to be named Larry H. Miller Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram 104th

DENVER (May 2, 2014) – Larry H. Miller Dealerships announced today that it has acquired Pro Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of Thornton, Colo. This further solidifies the group’s commitment to the Denver market where it has had a presence since 1988, and where company founder Larry H. Miller first began in the automotive industry.

“For 26 years we’ve served the greater Denver area both financially and philanthropically, and we are excited to add a Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram store to our offerings,” said Dean Fitzpatrick, president of Larry H. Miller Dealerships. “We look forward to continuing to provide exemplary customer service, employee growth opportunities and to conduct business in-line with our company values of honesty and integrity.”

Larry H. Miller began his career as a parts salesman in Denver, Colorado in 1970. In 1988, Larry H Miller Dealerships opened Larry H. Miller Liberty Toyota Colorado Springs. In 1992, Larry H. Miller Toyota Scion Boulder was opened. Larry H. Miller Kia Lakewood and Larry H. Miller Volkswagen Lakewood both opened in 2001, and Larry H. Miller Toyota Colorado Springs followed in 2002. A Nissan store was added in the group in 2006, with the addition of Larry H. Miller Nissan Highlands Ranch.

The newly named Larry H. Miller Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram 104th store is located at 1800 West 104th Avenue in Thornton.

“We always consider employees part of the asset when we acquire a new store, and we invest in their growth,” said Steve Starks, executive vice president of Larry H. Miller Management Corporation. “In addition to retaining current store employees, we have full-time trainers in our dealership group who work with staff to help them be successful.”

Larry H. Miller Dealerships’ commitment to employee retention was a key factor in John Schenden’s decision to sell to the group.

“Selling a business is difficult, especially since I have invested the past 21 years into the store,” said Schenden. “Knowing that I am selling to a company that values not just their customers and employees, but the betterment of their communities made the decision easier.”

Larry H. Miller Dealerships and the Miller family strongly believe in supporting the communities where they conduct business. Through Larry H. Miller Charities, the dealerships give back locally by focusing their united service and corporate giving on women’s and children’s issues, with an emphasis on health and education. Since 1996, more than $223,000 has been donated to nearly 70 qualified nonprofit organizations throughout the greater Denver area.

Larry H. Miller Dealerships operates 20 different automotive brands under 53 dealership locations in six western states, and employs nearly 600 individuals in Colorado. It is the 10th largest automotive dealership group in the country, and the 4th largest privately-owned according to Automotive News. For more information about Larry H.
